A study came out a couple years ago which predicts that the median wealth of black Americans will fall to zero by 2053, which indicates a huge and growing gulf between black US households and everyone else, and could be disastrous for future of America’s middle class.
What’s a Bodega?
A bodega is a small neighborhood convenience store, often found in urban communities, that sells everyday essentials like snacks, drinks, household items, and basic groceries. More than just a store, it often serves as a familiar community hub where people meet, chat, and support one another.
In our game, the bodega serves as the heart of the community. It is deeply connected to people’s everyday lives, and compared to a traditional bodega, it takes on many more functions. It is not just a place to shop, but also a space where people gather, connect, and exchange information.
